Compression Lug, 2 Hole, 1500 MCM, 1/2 Inch Stud, Aluminum
Overview
Compression Lug, 2 Hole, 1500 MCM, 1/2 Inch Stud, Aluminum
Built for high-capacity terminations, the Burndy YA46A3 aluminum compression lug delivers dual-rated AL9CU performance up to 35 kV with a UL/CSA listing for confidence on every install. Its 2-hole, 1/2-inch stud design with 1-3/4-inch spacing ensures rock-solid mounting on bus bars, while the internally chamfered, tin-plated barrel speeds insertion and fights galvanic corrosion. Factory pre-filled with PENETROX A13 and sealed with color-coded end caps, the YA46A3 provides consistent, low-resistance connections for 1500 kcmil conductors—backed by clear die index and color code markings for fast, error-proof crimping.

- Electro-tin plated unless otherwise specified to reduce galvanic corrosion (bimetallic) and resist corrosive elements
- Aluminum terminals are dual rated to accommodate both copper and aluminum wire and are indicated with AL-CU on the connector - AL9CU is UL Listed 90°C, up to 35kV, AL7CU is UL Listed 75°C, up to 35kV
- Barrel is designed with an internal chamfer at the wire entry to ensure smooth insertion of the wire, preventing possible damage of the wire strands during insertion
- Color coded end caps are factory inserted in the barrels to match the die color code and prevent foreign materials from entering the barrel
- Aluminum oxidation is not easily detected but causes resistance in a connection, it is imperative the proper preparation takes place prior to making an aluminum-to-aluminum connection
