The information actually says to check every 90 days, and vacuum; and to replace supply air filter every 6 months ( doesn’t say same for exhaust air which I imagine can be left on a little longer seeing as it should be exhausting mostly clean, though stale, air.

Overpriced proprietary filters cost $400 per year
This thing takes proprietary filters of which the cheapest costs $96.95 from Panasonic and about the same here. You're supposed to replace it every 90 days, so that's over $400/year in filters after shipping and tax. Buy any other ERV and come out ahead after a year or two of ownership.
