Wire Rope Grips are made of high strength galvanized steel strand in a construction of triple, double and single weave for superior gripping ability. They are available with or without a rotating barrel which will help eliminate twist in the old rope from being transferred to the new rope. Wire Rope Grips are used for changing wire rope on oil derricks, large cranes, overhead cranes and drag lines. It provides a quick, safe, inexpensive temporary splice. By installing the used wire rope in one end and the new rope in the other, the new wire rope can be pulled in as the old one is pulled out.
